Dr. Gayla M. Royer grew up in West Texas. She attended Texas Tech University and marched in the band at Texas Tech. She graduated Suma Cum Laude from TTU Health Science Center with a degree in Clinical Lab Science. Gayla followed her childhood dream and graduated from Texas Tech University Health Science Center School of Medicine. She was accepted into the General Surgery Residency Program at Mercer University Medical Center of Central Georgia. Following this Dr. Royer was accepted into the Colon and Rectal Surgery Fellowship at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas. Speaking Spanish has helped her communicate with patients from medical school to the present. Dr. Royer has practiced as a Colon and Rectal Surgeon in Birmingham and now she joins our family here at Southern Wellness. Dr. Royer loves patient interaction and helping people achieve wellness that allows them to live life to the fullest!
